Hi dwjinbbca, I just worked on this all day and finally got the needed fix from a VMWare tech.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\Vmware\Vmware tools\vmtoolsd.exe
- Right-click on the .exe and select Properties.
- On the Compatibility tab, check the box next to “Run this program as an Administrator". Save changes.
- Double-click on the .exe to run it. There should now be two instances of vmtoolsd.exe in Task Manager's processes tab.
- Smack forehead for not figuring out sooner (I mean this for me, as an IT tech), or smack VMWare for not programming this in
Drag n drop from the host to the VM worked after this and vice versa, however, I could only drag from the right side of the VM screen to the host. Go figure.
