One thing to keep an eye on with this design is the distribution of desktops. Perhaps it's been fixed now, but in the past, when you gave view multiple datastores to use for a clone, it would always pick based available space on the disk. With local storage, picking a datastore also determines which host it will be on, but view doesn't account for that. You can wind up with one host nearly maxed out and others not being utilized.
